For the Biomass Energy sector LIST in cooperation with Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables, Aoiz, Spain (CENER, www.cener.com) have developed a Torrefaction process for the thermal treatment of a wide range of organic materials. The Torrefaction process produces beneficial changes on the biomass composition, such as the reduction of fibers content, the increase of calorific value and the improved resistance to degradation.
